Why doesn’t the product key returned match the one on my product sticker?

If you purchased a computer with software already installed on it from a large manufacturer such as Dell or HP, it's possible that the software was installed using an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) key instead of the actual key found on the accompanying product CD case or the product sticker affixed to the computer case. This is quite normal.
